Purpose. To foster a healthy campus culture and community engagement at Sam Houston State University through collaboration with campus and community partners on programs, services, and initiatives that address all dimensions of wellness. The wellness committee will partner closely with staff senate, faculty senate, and human resources for SHSU faculty and staff wellness initiatives.

Member Appointments. The President makes all appointments from nominations submitted by the Chief Financial Offcer & Senior Vice President For Operations.  The committee will consist of up to 10 members including the positions of Chair with an indefinite term, Secretary, and a Marketing/Webmaster. The Secretary and Marketing/Webmaster will serve one-year terms expiring August 31 and may serve longer. Standing membership will consist of one University Faculty Senate Representative, one Staff Senate Representative, and one additional representative from People Operations. The remainder of the committee will consist of up to 6 general members who will serve staggered two-year terms at a minimum and may serve longer.

Chair Appointment:  The President appoints the Director of Employee Engagement to serve an indefinite term by virtue of position.
